Viktor & Rolf perfume: How a friendship evolved into a luxury brand
The Viktor & Rolf brand is famous for its unique designs, many of which are based on art and literature. Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren, the founders of Viktor & Rolf, first met as students at the Arnhem Art Academy in the Netherlands. They soon realised they shared a passion for fashion and decided to design their own garments. They launched their fashion label in 1993. The first Viktor & Rolf perfume was launched in 2005.
Here are the most popular Viktor & Rolf fragrances:
Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb: This Viktor & Rolf fragrance treats the senses to an array of floral and fruity scents. The top notes are a real explosion of sweet tangerine and bergamot, entwined with a touch of tea and a splash of freesia. At the heart of the fragrance is a rich and seductive composition of jasmine, rose petals and orchids, laced with intoxicating patchouli and musk. The result is an alluringly feminine fragrance that lasts all day long.
Viktor & Rolf Spicebomb: This men’s fragrance by Viktor & Rolf is a detonating combination of spicy and woody nuances. Its top notes are a cocktail of pepper, cinnamon and grapefruit that leave a vibrant and masculine impression. The heart of this fragrance is formed by the warm and smoky combination of leather, tobacco and vetiver. Tonka bean and vanilla base notes add a hint of softness and sweetness that perfectly complements this fragrance’s masculine character.
Bonbon by Viktor & Rolf: This Viktor & Rolf perfume is an appetizingly sweet and fruity fragrance for women who prefer intensive scents. Luminous and fizzy top notes of tangerine, orange and peach merge with floral heart note of jasmine and orange blossom, taking the scent in floral direction. The fragrance unfolds to reveal delicious caramel, vanilla and sandalwood base notes that add sensuous and feminine allure.
Luxury label Viktor & Rolf is now equally well-known for meticulously orchestrated fragrances as it is for fashions.
Viktor & Rolf fragrances: from small beginnings to international fame
Although Viktor & Rolf is today a luxury brand, the two men started out on a small scale and worked hard to build their business. In an interview with British Vogue, Viktor Horsting said that they worked 16-hour days at the beginning of their career to realise their vision. The Viktor & Rolf fragrances are all a reflection of the designers’ ambition and tastes.
Viktor & Rolf are famous for blurring the boundaries between fashion and art. Their Flowerbomb perfume isn’t just a fragrance, it’s an artwork for everyday use. The hand-made, faceted bottle with its golden top looks like a modern sculpture.
